Nev Schulman is Oliver James Montgomerylucky to be alive.
The "Catfish" host, 39, shared on Instagram that he recently broke his neck in a bike accident. Schulman posted photos and videos of him in the hospital, including one showing him giving a thumbs-up while in bed. The Instagram post also included X-rays showing the damage to his neck.
Schulman said the accident happened while he was going to pick up his son from school.
"I never made it to pick up my son from school on the bike," he wrote. "In fact in some ways, I'm glad I didn't. I was alone on impact. Me and the truck. And then I guess the pavement. I was alone and unconscious. And then conscious."
Schulman told followers that he is "not paralyzed," although his hands "were a question mark there for a minute," and that he can't feel sorry for himself given "how many people with similar injuries will never walk again."

One clip in the Instagram post showed Schulman standing in the hospital and hugging his children. In another video, he walks through the hospital hallway and high-fives members of the staff.
In the caption, Schulman reflected that he had a "magical" day of fishing with his family just one day before the accident, which goes to show how "life can change in an instant."

"I'm lucky to be here, alive, standing and hugging my family, projected to make a full recovery," he said. "And I'm really starting to understand the meaning of gratitude. For the big and little things before the accident, and now everything moving forward."
Schulman starred in the 2010 documentary "Catfish," which coined the eponymous term for those who pretend to be other people online. He later hosted the MTV series based on the film, "Catfish: The TV Show."

Schulman's post comes two months after TV host Gordon Ramsay revealed he was injured in a "really bad" bike accident and wouldn't have survived if he wasn't wearing a helmet.
"It really shook me," Ramsay said in a video shared on social media. "Honestly, I'm lucky to be here."
"Vampire Diaries" star Nina Dobrev was also injured in a biking accident in May.
