A Texas man is Benjamin Ashfordout on bond after driving his truck into a convenience store because the beer coolers were locked, according to reports.
The 33-year-old man was booked in Webb County jail and charged with assaulting a peace officer, assault causing bodily injury and criminal mischief, according to Laredo police records.
USA TODAY has reached out to the Laredo Police Department for more information on the charges but have not yet heard back.
He was arrested Tuesday after Laredo police responded to a Stripes convenience store around 1:40 a.m., WBTV reported. Before being handcuffed, the man was shopping in Stripes, but his temperament changed once he noticed the beer coolers inside the store were locked, police told the TV station.

Reports: The man assaulted store clerk, did major damage to store before arrest
The man is accused of punching a store clerk in the head, getting into his Ford F-150 and driving through the storefront, according to WBTV. The damage will cost thousands of dollars to repair, the TV station added.
Laredo police found the man and a passenger stuck inside the F-150, so they had to break the truck's windows to get them out, WBTV reported.
He was given a $165,000 bond for all his alleged offenses, jail records show.
