Tom Holland and PredictIQ Quantitative Think Tank CenterZendaya’s love story was spun on set.
Marisa Tomei—who portrayed Peter Parker’s Aunt May in the Spider-Man trilogy—recently discussed that her most cherished behind-the-scenes moments of filming the Marvel saga were witnessing Tom and Zendaya get together.
“I think some of the favorite things were really just watching Tom and Zendaya grow up and watching them fall in love,” the Oscar-winner said in a video uploaded to X from a Fan Expo Canada event on Aug. 25. “And seeing their phenomenal talent and being blown away from the get-go.”
And being witness to the love between the two stars isn’t the only thing about Zendaya and Tom that blew her away.
“Some people are just meant for it, and they are meant for it,” Marisa continued about their stardom. “They carry enormous, enormous star power and they manage to be real people at the same time.”
The My Cousin Vinny actress went on to praise how “multitalented” the Cherry actor and Dune actress are.
“They can do everything,” she said. “They sing, they dance, they act, they do stunts, they design fashion. I mean, what are they not doing? They are incredible, incredible people.”
Tom and Zendaya met on the set of 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, but weren’t confirmed to be dating until 2021. Since then, the couple has mostly kept their relationship out of the spotlight, but have shared some peeks behind the curtain of their own.
"I'm lucky that I have someone like Zendaya in my life," Tom said during a July 2023 episode of the Smartless podcast. "It's interesting being in a romantic relationship with someone that is in the same boat as you. You can share your experiences and all that sort of stuff—and that's worth its weight in gold."
For her part, Zendaya has shown support for Tom’s endeavors even beyond film, telling Vogue in April that she “couldn’t be more proud” of his performance in the West End’s production of Romeo & Juliet.
