When it comes to prepping for TV’s biggest night, few stars would bat an eye over the high price of glam.
But Sofia Vergara saw to it that at least one part of her 2024 Emmys red carpet look was budget-friendly.
While the Griselda star—nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series for the Netflix role—donned a bold Dolce & Gabbana gown and some Cartier and Lorraine Schwartz bling for the 76th Emmys ceremony, she toned down the exuberance when it came to her eye makeup by opting for KISS Lash Couture Naked Drama in Taffeta.
The false extensions—which are available for just $15.99 on the KISS website, as well as various department and drugstores—were applied with a $5 adhesive by the same makeup brand, Sofia’s Emmys makeup artist Sabrina Bedrani explained in a press release.
Sabrina also shared on social media that part of the 52-year-old’s look was achieved with SumaNurica serums, including the Probiotic Energizing Essence, the Hexapeptide5 Anti-Wrinkle eye serum and the ECM Ultra-Light Ceramide moisturizer.
As for the Modern Family alum’s effortlessly chic wavy hairstyle? Hair stylist Renato Campora revealed that it was achieved entirely by Hair by Schwarzkopf products.
And while Sofia’s glam team assured she looked flawless on the Emmys red carpet (see every look here), she was bested by Jodie Foster when it came to her acting accolade for the evening. The True Detective: Night Country actress also beat out Brie Larson (Lessons in Chemistry), Juno Temple (Fargo) and Naomi Watts (Feud: Capote vs. The Swans) in the category.
Naturally, as the saying goes, Sofia still found it an honor simply to be nominated for her first dramatic role.
“It was my first time acting in a drama, acting in Spanish believe it or not," Sofia exclusively told Laverne Cox on Live From E!: Emmys. "It was like a surprise—and a good surprise.”
After all, Sofia found Griselda to be one of her most challenging roles yet.
“To be honest, now that I know what it means to do a drama, comedy is so much easier," she added to E!. "It’s such a delight to go to the set and be happy, and the lines are happy and then you go home happy. When you’re doing a drama, it takes a toll on you and your mental state. It’s exhausting.”
Sofia wasn’t the only star to dazzle on the red carpet. Keep reading for every look at the 2024 Emmys.
