"Daisy Jones and the Six" officially has Stevie Nicks' stamp of approval.
"Just finished watching Daisy Jones + the 6 for the 2nd time. In the beginning, it wasn't really my story, but Riley seamlessly, soon became my story," the Fleetwood Mac singer/songwriter posted on Instagram Tuesday. Riley Keough plays Daisy Jones in the 10-episode Amazon Prime series.
She added, "It brought back memories that made me feel like a ghost watching my own story. It was very emotional for me. I just wish Christine (McVie) could have seen it. She would have loved it. Hopefully it will continue..."
The Emmy-nominated limited series, which came out on Amazon Prime earlier this year, is based on Taylor Jenkins Reid's 2019 novel of the same name.
Reid, who's listed Fleetwood Mac and various 1970s rock bands and artists as her inspiration for the plot, weaves a story of how a fictional rock band in the '70s imploded after rising out of obscurity.
"I started with listening to 'Rumours.' That was the beginning of it for me because it's an album — and this is something that so many people have said — but it's also a soap opera," Reid told Penguin Books UK in 2019. "The stories going on between Stevie and Lindsey (Buckingham) and the things that were going on between Christine McVie and John McVie are really fascinating, and they show in the music. So I started there."
Review:Riley Keough can sing, but 'Daisy Jones & the Six' is a featherweight flop
"Daisy Jones and the Six" actors Riley Keough, Suki Waterhouse and Camila Morrone responded to Nicks' post with delight. Keough, Waterhouse and Morrone individually reacted with strings of emojis.
"Oh my stars , Stevie !! ✨This means the world to the whole @daisyjonesandthesix team! Thank YOU for cutting the path!" Reese Witherspoon commented. Witherspoon's company, Hello Sunshine, produced the series.
